Árbol caducifolio que puede alcanzar los 10 metros de altura. Originario de Asia central. Extendido por todo el Mediterraneo
Composición: antioxidantes, cobre, potasio, calcio, manganeso, magnesio, hierro, zinc, vitaminas A, B, C, E, Retinol; fibras, proteínas, glúcidos, lípidos, ácidos grasos.
Usos: Antihipertensivo. Vermífugo. Tos. Diurético. Fiebre. Diarreas. Arterioesclerosis. Colesterol. Parásitos intestinales. Disentería. Insuficiencia cardiaca congestiva. Estomatitis. Disfunción eréctil. Diabetes. Prevención del cáncer de próstata. Obesidad. Acidosis. Hemorroides.
Partes utilizadas: fruto, hojas, corteza
Recolección: fruto, maduro. Hojas, primavera-verano. Corteza, preferentemente primavera-verano-otoño.
Cómo se usa: zumos, tinturas, extractos, infusión, cataplasmas…
