Arbusto perenne originario del sur de Asia, distribuido y cultivado en todo el mundo.

Recolección: Comienza a los 4 o 5 años después de su plantación. Al ser el té un árbol de hoja perenne, la cosecha debería ser posible a lo largo de todo el año, pero las condiciones climáticas la limitan a ciertos meses.
